Because Rosh Hashanah starts so early, I hope that the two weeks between the start of school on August 29 and the day before erev RH will be a time to do things. From Erev RH till the end of isru chag, forget about it. Then there is a long period till Chanukah, etc. In these periods it's hard/impossible to move forward, but at the same time the supermarkets and clothing stores and bookstores all are filled with the things you want for Shabbat. Even for non-religious still have the same rhythms and the same holidays. I really didn't know about Purim as a kid - here, everyone has costumes and a seudah. It's called being in OUR country, rather than in yours. Have you ever tried to get an American to call you back between Xmas and January 1?Karennoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7976081.post-57522992093100297902010-08-10T14:33:44.206+03:002010-08-10T14:33:44.206+03:00What the time is for: Spending time just the two o...What the time is for: Spending time just the two of you together!! Never did feet-in-shoes look so relaxed.

Enjoy this quiet time.
