The school never said that it's wrong or a sin to have longer hair. They just have an old dress code policy, going way back, that their students can't have waist length hair. They picked 4 inches below the shoulders as the cut-off point, which is pretty long for a little kid. In the summer they sent out a letter to parents to let them know that when the kids came in to have their heads checked for lice, the volunteers would also check to make sure their hair wasn't too long so there wouldn't be a problem for any kids when school started. They started using a ruler to be fair to all kids so that no parents would complain. That's it.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
